The Barn at Avington launched 2018 summer with the philosophy that couples should have the time and freedom to have a truly unique celebration. Set on a working farm, there are endless opportunities – foliage foraging, stunning scenery and total tranquillity. The Barn’s first winter Open Day in January was captured by photographer Angela Ward Brown and will provide you with both inspiration and knowledge to help you to plan your Hampshire wedding.
The Barn at Avington “the theme of the styled shoot was modern elegance entwined with classic romance. The purpose was to portray some key elements that couples can take away and incorporate into their own wedding. The use of pre-loved furniture in this industrial style barn worked beautifully with a rustic trestle wooden table and chairs provided by Vicky at Purple Door Props, a favourite supplier at The Barn at Avington”.
Moonrise at the Grand Budapest Hotel: A Wes Anderson-Inspired Wedding Editorial at the Barn at Avington. There are certain directors and artists whose style you can spot a mile away, and if you’re familiar with Wes Anderson, you’ll know that he is one of them! As a longtime fan, photographer Kirsty Mackenzie wanted to create an editorial inspired by his quirky style. Together, with the colourful stylists at The Wedding Spark, they decided to focus on the bohemian romance of Moonrise Kingdom and the glamour of The Grand Budapest Hotel. Fancy yourself an Anderson fan? Take a tour through the brilliant images at The Barn at Avington and see how they brought his signature style to life!
The Barn at Avington launched 2018 summer – Emma from Coco talks about how much she loves this new space… “It’s not your usual rustic barn my friends. This one has blank-canvas industrial vibes that will please any minimalist or City-dwellers heart”. Its journey as we all know down here only started in January 2018 when Wedding Coordinator Beth and Farmer Robert decided to turn a barn, which had previously housed everything from pigs to vintage cars, into a cool new Hampshire wedding venue. In just five months, The Barn has been transformed into a modern industrial blank canvas for couples to make their own.
Barn at Avington opened its doors for the first time to welcome in some of Hampshire’s coolest wedding suppliers. At the pre-shoot meeting, Angela Ward Brown, photographer, coined the term ‘lux-tic’ – a perfect combination of luxurious rich tones and couture bridal, with the rustic barn and styling. The Barn is a blank canvas for couples to make their own and this shoot showed that you could retain the cool industrial feel while still feeling fun, fresh and warm (even though it was minus temperatures on the day of the shoot!). Enjoy these glorious images, and the feel of a very original Hampshire wedding venue.

This editorial last year stole my heart, perfectly captured by Cooper Photography and bringing together some of my favourite wedding suppliers. This is exactly what the Hampshire Wedding Club is all about, and I LOVE IT! Thank you so much everyone xx
