A luxury bridal experience for the fabric junkie, full of textures, florals, luxe fabrics and quintessentially British bridal gowns
Meet our boutique, by Natalie Hamer
Exquisite Bridal Couture was established in 2010 out of a passion of mine for fabrics, quality and a luxury bridal experience with service second to none. Bridal wasn’t always my thing, I was more of a ready to wear kind of girl, after spending many years working with the best in luxury brands at Harvey Nichols.
However the world of bridal attracted me as it is just such a wonderful opportunity to work directly with talented designers to assist brides in creating their dream gown. It’s a hidden and unspoken world of Couture. Yes that is what you are getting girls – a couture gown for your day. How special and amazing is that!
I’m not a designer myself, but what I know I am good at after years of working in the industry is working with brides to find out what exactly their dream gown is and finding and showing them bespoke touches that can make a gown your own. It’s this elevated and bespoke service that makes bridal stand out in a retail sector that is fastly loosing that one to one approach.
Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing designers here at Exquisite and every single partnership has been wonderful. This year, I did feel I need for change. The independent bridal market is under heavy competition from high street, buy it quick & low price point options that didn’t exist years ago. This is great for brides in one way as it has opened up a massive range of choice. But is that choice too much? Yes I believe it is.
“I found Exquisite Bridal whilst searching for Jenny Packham stockists, so booked an appointment with Natalie straight away. I knew I had made the right choice straight away, Natalie made me feel at ease and advised me on styles etc, whilst also letting me just try the dresses I knew I liked on straight away. I would not hesitate to recommend Natalie and her fabulous shop to anyone if they want a friendly, professional service, the designers she has are all, sophisticated, unique and beautiful. Looking forward to my fitting later on in the year! So happy I found my dress with Natalie”
We’ve stripped back our collections this year to focus on British Bridal Design – which I have to say is just absolutely the best. There is something so special about knowing your dress has been made here, in this country. For me, being a complete control freak I also love the fact that I can communicate so easily with my suppliers, I know they are only a train ride or a drive away if I need to speak to them about a last minute bespoke change on a gown.
So how has this changed our collections? Well we’re focussing on designers Caroline Castigliano, Temperley, Jenny Packham & Stephanie Allin and our collections are a carefully edited selection of gowns with unique detailing, we love a bit of texture, embroidery and fabrics that feel amazing to the touch. We also carry accessories by local designers Victoria Fergusson and Ashley Wilde, shoes to die for by Harriet Wilde and veils by Helen Martin. All of these creatives are British too!
Once you’ve found your gown we’ll work really closely with you to finish the gown by offering special Accessories & Shoe days – these are so much fun and allow you to meet the Designer and create your own bespoke pieces.
We are not for everyone, we don’t have a style of dress for every bride – how is it even possible to do that? What we do have as a boutique is a strong personal style and ethos, you only have to head to our Instagram and Pinterest pages to find out what that is. If you love it then come and see us!
“Exquisite was the first bridal shop I visited and the others I went to subsequently could not match up to the level of professionalism and service received at Exquisite. Natalie and the team did a brilliant job of putting me at ease and making sure I found the perfect dress for me. Above all, her patience with my indecisiveness was amazing, even slotting me in for a last minute alteration appointment days before my wedding. Highly recommend, thank you so much for everything!”

After hearing that social distancing is likely to last for 3-6 months… I’ve had to start facing up to the inevitable possibility…
Perhaps The White Wedding won’t be happening this year, should we furlough?
