Unless I am really concentrating I am never in complete silence. I need music on, I love listening to the latest iTunes playlist (big fan of the very eclectic Chanel show soundtracks), my work playlist or at the moment (don’t judge me) a combination of the Greatest Showman and La La Land.  I can hear you laughing you know.  First thing in the morning, getting through my email, getting the first instagram post of the day I need a good lift from music.  The kind my tone deaf singing skills can accompany in a rousing and uplifting manner, at least until I get told to shhhh by my kids anyway.

Music is a hugely important part of mine and my families lives, because the choices you make can evoke memories, change moods in an instant, and really can alter the course of your day.  Simply, a I am sure it is proven that listening to a beautiful melody, an uplifting song, or thinking about a meaningful lyric can have a profound affect on your mood and wellbeing.

It is therefore pretty obvious that we will tell you the choice of what music you have playing to entertain your guests at your wedding is a big thing to think about!

I’m all for the soulful and lyrically exquisite, which is why the first time I listened to Connie sing with the band the Freight Train Runners, I was honestly smitten.

The Freight Train Runners are a five piece band from Hampshire with a wonderful talent, who clearly naturally perform brilliantly together. With a setlist inspired by Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash and Mumford and Sons, they will provide a folk/county/rock sound to liven up any event.  They have something to offer most generations in terms of taste and musical enjoyment.

Over to Connie for a moment

I have always loved weddings and really enjoy working within the industry. Complimented regularly by music lovers for my eclectic setlists without the predictable choices, I have recently put together an alternative and well received function band made up of talented and professional musicians I have worked with previously. We are a festival style, foot tapping, lively band that cover a wide range of music from old to new, across music genres of folk, blues, rock, indie and pop. We offer two 50 minute sets as standard plus a first dance if the bride and groom wish, however can offer bespoke packages where we can discuss different ideas that suit the wedding day best. I am a big believer that music is so important in setting the perfect atmosphere. It is crucial to make the time to keep in touch with the bride and groom and get to know them, learning their music tastes and personalities. Preparation is key.

The band are:

Lead Singer and Tambourine – Connie Deadman
Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals – Ed Adams
Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals – Will Bourne
Double Bass – Brian Throup
Cajon Drum – Kurt Phillips

Prior to the big day Connie was so organised in finalising our details and kept in touch with the venue and was so flexible with her availability and set arrangements so there was very little we needed to worry about and get involved in. She had chosen the perfect songs that could be enjoyed by everyone there. In the evening, everything was set up inside and the tempo picked up getting everyone in the mood to dance the night away. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful Connie was on the day and how relaxed the whole day was. I honestly think Connie played such a big part in making our day perfect. I would highly recommend her for any event or celebration. Such a beautiful voice, so musically talented that she was able to tell what worked for the guests, and such a lovely bubbly person to have there on the day. Just fantastic!
